Celebrate 6 Years of the Fort!

6 years… 🍻

We can hardly believe it! Join us at the Fort for our SIXTH ANNIVERSARY bash the weekend of January 27-28.

We’ll be dropping some new beers and hard seltzers and welcoming back our pal Bryan Breathes for a night of solo acoustic fun (he takes a MASSIVE amount of requests!) on Saturday from 6-9pm.

More nonsense TBA!

Let us know you’re coming by on Facebook.

Oktoberfest 2023 at the Fort: What to Know

Oktoberfest season is nearly here—and we can’t wait to celebrate with you during the Fort’s weekend-long Oktoberfest celebration, Saturday, Sept. 16 (12-10pm) & Sunday, Sept. 17 (12-6pm)!

Keep an eye out on our social for ongoing beer announcements and any last-minute news, but here’s what you need to know:

•We will be doing beer tickets, on sale Wednesday, Sept. 13. More info on that below.
•We will be selling steins! (And yes, you may bring back steins from last year.)
•Unsinn Machen Oktoberfest will be back on tap and in 4-packs (Also keep an eye out for us in your local liquor stores!), and that’s just one of our 16 taps!
•Chick Wings and Things food truck will be onsite Sunday, Sept. 17.
•Oktoberfest-themed fun includes Men’s & Women’s Steinholding Competitions (sign up early here!), axe-throwing, a live oompah band, and more!

Let us know you’re coming by RSVPing on FB here.

THE BEER

The full taplist will be available by the end of the week and posted on our social. And while beer tickets are only for draft pours, we will be selling to-go, including crowlers, growlers and 4-packs.

There will be NO FLIGHTS. You may buy 5oz beers individually.

THE TICKETS

Just like last year’s event, we are selling beer tickets. In fact, you can buy them right now in our taproom. (No online purchases.) These tickets will be the ONLY way you can get an on-site pour during Oktoberfest weekend — and yes, they do expire after the 17th. You may not use them for to-go. There is no entry admission/cover, but the first thing you see when you enter will be the beer ticket line & wristband line in our hallway. If you’re purchasing to-go only, you may bypass this line, but everyone drinking onsite needs a wristband.

Beer Ticket Pricing:

1 ticket/$4 (5oz pours)

2 tickets/$8 (12oz OR 16oz pours)

a row of 10 tickets for $35.

Tax included.

THE MUSIC

The Fort & Friends Oompah Band is reuniting for year 2! See Andrew, Lindsey, Joe and more perform “Roll Out the Barrel” and more classic German tunes.

THE STEINS

Our new 2023 half-liter steins will be available starting Wednesday, Sept. 13. For $18 you get a stein + two drink tickets. At this time, that is the only way to purchase a stein. You may bring in last year’s half-liter stein from the Fort, but no non-FNBC steins will be filled, and no steins larger than 16oz/half-liters.

Any beers on tap under 8% may be used for stein fills/refills.

THE RULES

Our regular brewery rules apply, which means absolutely no outside alcohol. Tip your beertenders. Be nice to each other. We are expanding our outdoor premise for this event, but please no drinks outside the fence and no smoking inside the fence.

We are looking forward to what’ll hopefully be a beautiful day filled with clinking steins and lots of lederhosen!

Prost!

We are expanding our outdoor premise for this event, but please no drinks outside of the fence and no smoking inside the fence.

THE MOST IMPORTANT PART

We’re so excited to be bringing this event back this summer, and hope to be doing Sourstock for many years to come. While you’re having tons of fun, please make sure to be safe and responsible as well. Call a rideshare service. Get a buddy to drop you off and pick you up. And please respect (and tip!) the beertenders who will be working so hard to help everyone have the best time.

CHEERS!

We won! Thanks to you.

The Cellarman Sea Shandy Sour Ale is now an award-winning beer.

This past Saturday at Morristown’s Big Brew Festival, we took home the People’s Choice Award. Out of 150+ beer styles, The Cellarman Sea Shandy Sour Ale, our 5.5% shandy-inspired fruited sour with tangerine, curuba and sea salt, was voted the most popular. This was our second year in a row winning—like, what?! (Last year, we won the trophy for our In Fuller Effect Hazy DIPA.) We’re just so grateful for everyone who came by our booth to try out what we’re offering! It feels good to get so much love in our home county.

The Cellarman is available now on tap, for growler and crowler fills and in 4-packs. It’ll be hitting distro throughout NJ soon too, so hit us up if you want to know where to get it near you.

Five Years of the Fort

Can you believe it’s been five whole years since our humble beginnings when we first opened our doors on Rt. 10?! Five years, 150+ beers, countless events, a massive move and upgrade, and tons of other nonsense later, we’re ready to celebrate one epic milestone with you all. And let’s be real, we wouldn’t be here without you.

So, starting Friday, January 27th at 4pm, we’ll be celebrating five years of the fort all weekend long. Catch live music Friday and Saturday night (Jon Zayle 6-9pm on Friday & The City Limit 6-9pm on Saturday), exciting new beers, and a super cool anniversary glass (pictured below!).

Keep an eye on our Facebook and Instagram for more details, including our anniversary beers and the full taplist!

…and we’ll see you there! (Dry January, take a hike!)

YOU'RE INVITED... Fort Nonsense Brewing's Grand Reopening

IT’S TIME!! We are very excited to announce that our GRAND REOPENING DATE is officially set for Saturday, October 30th from 12-10pm at our new, much larger home at 220 Franklin Road in Randolph, NJ! Come early to see our brief ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11:30am.

We’ll have live music, de minimis food offerings (you can also BYOF!), and plenty of beers on tap and in cans… the theme is “Fort Nonsense’s Greatest Hits” so expect to see some of your favorites on there, like Hazers & Lazers Sour IPA and A.J.A. Salted Peanut Porter, along with some new offerings and our year-round brews.

THIS ALSO MEANS… you only have three more days to enjoy the last hurrah with us at our original home, 3118 Rt. 10 West in Denville, NJ. We are open this week on Thursday and Friday from 4-10pm and Saturday from 12-10pm. Limited supply left. Come by and help us drain the kegs we don’t want to move!!

Follow us on Facebook and Instagram below for the latest day-to-day updates!

WE'RE MOVING!

You may have noticed within the past year how tight our space has gotten storage-wise. (Plenty of you actually asked us if we were moving *last* summer, but really, we just had a lot of stuff and not a lot of space… and that helped lead us to this decision!). Thankfully though, we can officially say that we’ve found a fresh, more spacious home base for Fort Nonsense Brewing Co.

Our new spot is less than two miles from our current location, and it’s on Franklin Road—but that’s all we’re revealing at the moment!! More info will be released soon, and we’ll be posting construction updates weekly. 👷‍♂️ Our anticipated ETA for our new location and grand reopening will be Fall 2021. This location will have: double the square footage, more seating, a larger beer garden space, more taps (aka, more beer options!), and plenty of room for activities. We cannot wait to host bigger events, have live music, wider distribution throughout NJ and bring you even more of the beers you keep asking for (we hear you, we swear!).

It’s been great to have our humble beginnings at 3118 Rt 10 West over the last three-plus years, and we can’t wait to make even more memories with all of you in our new home later this year. We really couldn’t be doing this without you. And if it’s been awhile since you’ve stopped by, make sure to visit us this summer before we make our big move!

Again, thank you thank you thank you. It’s an amazing, scary time to run a small business, and we appreciate your support more than you can imagine. The community of craft beer drinkers around us is astoundingly awesome and we hope you continue to enjoy the brews, the atmosphere and the company.

Cheers,
Fort Nonsense Brewing Company’s Aslanian Family & the Fort Fam

Summer Hours + Craft Seltzer is back!

GREAT NEWS! 🙌 As the weather heats up, we’re expanding our hours so you can enjoy brews six days a week, and a bit later, too.

Starting Tuesday, April 27th, our taproom and beer garden hours will now be:

Tuesdays - Fridays 4-10pm
Saturdays 12-10pm
Sundays 12-6pm

And… there’s… more!

NONSELTZER, OUR 4.5% CRAFT HARD SELTZER IS BACK! ...and we think better than ever!🙌
The perfect drink for the warmer weather (besides beer, of course!) is making its triumphant return on tap and available for crowler and growler fills. Try our Nonseltzer in a variety of flavors including two totally new options—Passionfruit and Mango—plus the return of Raspberry, Raspberry/Lime, Blood Orange and Lemon Lime.

Also, after careful consideration, we are bringing back flights and glassware (!!!), but at this time they’ll be indoors only due to the nature of our beer garden. The beer garden will remain 10oz and 16oz single-use plastic, and of course if you’d prefer that inside too, just let your beertender know! But we’re really excited to be able to offer you flights again! Come try our four staples, or get a flight of our new seltzers—or mix and match!

Cheers!
